Mustangs Best Walker Wolverines 13-8 for First Win of the 2024 Season

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Lacrosse team picked up its first win of the 2024 season on Tuesday night, Feb. 27, defeating the Walker School Wolverines 13-8 at Ron Hill Field.

After trailing 2-0, MV roared back with three unanswered goals to take a 3-2 lead at the end of the first period.

The Mustangs outscored the Wolverines 3-0 in the second period to lead 6-2 at intermission.

MV would close out the match on a 7-6 run in the second half to seal the win.

Cole Palmer led the Mustangs with seven goals while teammates Chase Perry and Dalton Siggers netted two scores each.

Palmer and Perry also recorded two assists in the match and keeper Coleson Quisenberry racked up eight saves.

Both squads managed 28 shots in the match with the Mustangs winning the face-off battle 58.3 percent of the time.

Mount Vernon returns to the field after Interim and Spring Break on Thursday, March 21, hosting Eagles Landing Christian Academy.

Face-off against the Chargers is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Ron Hill Field.
