ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Soccer team was in action on Tuesday afternoon, March 26, picking up a 2-1 region victory over the Paideia Pythons at Ron Hill Field.

It also marks the program's first victory over the Pythons.

Davis Regier netted MV's first goal in the first half on an assist by George Walmsley.

Up 1-0 entering the second period, MV would allow a Paideia goal with under 17 minutes to play in the match.

But the Mustangs responded in a big way with Will Inman scoring the game-winning goal on an assist from Landron Hoyal to secure the win.

Harrison Estenson picked up four saves in goal for the Mustangs.

Mount Vernon outshot the Pythons 7-5 on the day.

The Mustangs (3-3-4) are back on the pitch on Wednesday, March 27, traveling to the Weber School for another region match.

Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
