Girls Tennis Moves to Sweet 16 with 4-0 Win at Armuchee

ROME, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Tennis team picked up a first round GHSA State Tournament win on Tuesday afternoon, April 17, defeating Armuchee High School 4-0 at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

Daniela O'Leary had a commanding 6-0, 6-0 win at no. 1 singles.

Emma Zlotnick was nearly flawless in her 6-1, 6-0 victory at no. 2 singles.

Lucille Kincaid bested her opponent 6-2, 6-0 at no. 3 singles to clinch the win for MV.

Kate Duncan and Taylor Gravely finished off their no. 2 doubles opponents 6-2, 6-4 as well.

The Mustangs (13-8) will advance to play Tallulah Falls in the Sweet 16 next week.
