Girls Soccer Moves to Final Four with 6-0 Win at Metter

METTER, Ga. - For a second consecutive season, the Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Soccer team is going to the Final Four.

Mount Vernon earned that spot with a commanding 6-0 win at Metter High School in the Elite 8 round on Monday, April 29.

The Mustangs struck early and often, pouring in three goals in the first period to lead 3-0 at halftime.

Eden Wassersug netted two goals while teammate Sienna Tiffin had one in the first half.

In the second period, the Mustangs put the match away for good with three more scores.

Wassersug struck for two more goals while Tiffin added her second.

Lilla Adams led the team in assists with four while Wassersug had two.

Bella Champney picked up four saves as well.

Mount Vernon (12-6) returns to action on Thursday, May 2, traveling to either East Laurens or Social Circle needing one more win to get back to the State Championship match for the second time in as many years.
