SAVANNAH, Ga. - For the first time in program history, the Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Soccer team is going to the Final Four.
MV secured a spot in the next round by defeating Woodville-Tompkins 6-0 on Tuesday night, April 30 at Memorial Stadium.
The Mustangs went up 1-0 by halftime thanks to a goal from George Walmsley.
MV scored four more times in the second half to put the game away with goals from Walmsley, Korey Philpot, Kaden Kenner and Eyob Anteneh.
Nick Sroka, Alex Berry, Davis Regier, Jack newton and Philpot all picked up one assist.
Harrison Estenson corralled three saves as well.
MV will play Paideia in the GHSA 1A-DI Final Four on Friday, May 3 on the road.
Kick-off time will be determined in the next 24 hours.
