Boys Tennis Returns to State Championship with 3-1 Win Over Galloway

DUNWOODY, Ga. - For a second consecutive season, the Varsity Boys Tennis team is going back to the State Championship.

The Mustangs secured their spot in the title match with a convincing 3-1 win over Galloway on Friday afternoon, May 3, at Dunwoody Country Club.

Liam O'Leary dominated at no. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0.

Cadyn Dawson followed suit at no. 2 singles, prevailing 6-2, 6-1.

Nico Tur clinched the team win at no. 3 singles 6-4, 6-3.

Mount Vernon (17-7) will look to capture the program's first GHSA State Championship on Saturday, May 11, taking on The Darlington School at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

Darlington bested Whitefield 3-1 to advance last Friday.

First serve for the State Championship is scheduled 1 p.m.
