MUSTANGS CLOSE SEASON WITH STRONG SHOWING AT GHSA TRACK & FIELD STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

ROME, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls Track & Field squads closed out the season in style last week at the GHSA 1A-D1 State Championships at Barron Stadium.

Multiple Mustangs were crowned State Champions with others finishing high up in other events.

-Girls 100m Hurdles State Champion - Kennedy Reynolds

-Girls 300m Hurdles State Champion - Kennedy Reynolds

-Boys 800m Run State Champion - Haris Flynn

-Boys 4x800m Relay State Champions - Matthew Pierce, Curran Jolly, Haris Flynn, Collin Maher

-Boys 800m Run State Runner Up - Curran Jolly

-Boys 1600m Run State Runner Up - Haris Flynn

-Girls 4x400 Relay State Runner Ups - Cora Champney, Alexis Smith, Gracie Urban, Kennedy Reynolds

-Girls 400m Run 3rd in State - Alexis Smith

-Boys 4x400m Relay 4th in State - Curran Jolly, Matthew Pierce, Haris Flynn, Ethan Pajot

-Boys 400m Run 8th in State - Ethan Pajot

-Boys Long Jump 8th in State - Xavier Shegog

-Boys Team Placed 4th in State Overall
