Varsity Softball Takes Region Contest Over Landmark Christian, 17-0

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team picked up its second consecutive victory on Tuesday afternoon, August 27, defeating the Landmark Christian War Eagles 17-0 in three innings at Mustang Park.

The Mustang bats were hot from the beginning, scoring 12 runs in the first inning.

MV would add five more in the second frame bringing the run-rule into effect in the third.

Priscilla Andrin, Reese Hickey, and Maggie Moore all had two hits each.

Andrin had three RBI's while Hickey, Moore, Alex Schiff and Riley Blatt drove in two apiece.

Olivia McDougall and Taylor D'Auria also scored three runs for MV.

McDougall picked up the win in the circle while racking up six strikeouts and not allowing any walks.

MV (4-7) will look to keep its winning streak going on Wednesday, August 27, traveling to Pace Academy for a non-region contest against the Knights.

First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Pace Academy Softball Field.
