Varsity Softball Powers Past Galloway Scots, 15-0

ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team picked up its eighth straight victory on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 10, defeating the Galloway Scots 15-0 in three innings at the Warren Road Complex.

The Mustangs scored all 15 runs in the top of the first inning to take a commanding lead and bring the run-rule into effect.

Riley Blatt picked up three RBI's while Priscilla Andrin, Reese Hickey, Olivia McDougall, and Ella Clockadale each had two.

Alex Schiff and and McDougall racked up three hits apiece while no Mustang batter struck out on the day.

McDougall picked up the win in the circle, allowing one hit with eight strikeouts and no walks.

Six players scored two runs for the Mustangs: Kennedy Reynolds, Maggie Moore, Schiff, Andrin, Hickey, McDougall, and Clockadale.

Mount Vernon (10-7) returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 12, hosting Mt. Paran in a non-region game.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Mustang Park.
