ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team split its weekend doubleheader against the Temple High School Tigers on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Mustang Park.
MV dropped the first game 4-3 before rallying to take the second contest 4-1.
In the Game 2 victory, MV scored a pair of runs in the first and second inning.
Mamie Bowen finished with two RBI's while Reese Hickey and Olivia McDougall had one each.
Priscilla Andrin and Hickey account for two hits apiece. Both players also had one double to their credit.
Hickey earned the win in the circle allowing one run on five hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
In the first game of the day, Andrin had two RBI's on a 2-for-4 performance at the dish.
Hickey was 1-for-2 with one RBI as well.
Saturday's win in the second game for MV marked the Varsity Softball program's 200th program victory.
MV (12-10) returns to play on Wednesday, Sept. 25, traveling to Etowah High School for a non-region contest.
First pitch against the Eagles is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in Woodstock, Ga.
