Varsity Softball Wins Final Region Game of the Year Over King's Ridge, 12-1

ALPHARETTA, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Softball team closed out region play on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 1, defeating the King's Ridge Christian School Tigers 12-1 on the road.

MV scored two runs in the first inning followed by three in the second, third and fourth frames.

Mount Vernon closed out the game via run rule in the fifth inning by plating one run.

Cameron Bogdanchik, Alex Schiff, Priscilla Andrin and Olivia McDougall had two RBI's each while Reese Hickey drove in one run.

Schiff led the squad with three hits on the day.

Andrin, McDougall, Mamie Bowen and Ella Clockadale recorded multi-hit games as well.

McDougall earned the win in the circle, tossing four innings and allowing just one run on two hits.

Hickey pitched a scoreless inning of relief as well.

MV (14-10) closes out the regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 2, traveling to Woodward Academy.

First pitch against the War Eagles is scheduled for 5 p.m. in College Park, Ga.
