Mustangs Secure 92-59 Region Victory Over Fellowship Christian

ROSWELL, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Boys Basketball team picked up a 92-59 region victory over the Fellowship Christian Paladins on Tuesday night, Feb. 4.

MV led 26-10 at the end of the first quarter and went on a 24-16 spurt in the second period to lead 50-26 at halftime.

The Mustangs would outscore the Paladins 42-33 in the second half to seal the win.

MV shot 48.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from downtown.

Mount Vernon also scored 26 points in transition and forced Fellowship Christian into 18 turnovers.

MV also capitalized on the inside game with 54 points in the paint.

Darrell Dickens led the Mustangs ins coring with 17 points coupled with seven rebounds.

Other Mustangs in double-figures scoring were Pace Bottoms (16), Gabe Alterman (12), AJ Doyley (12), Quint McGrath (11) and Chase Daniels (11).

Alterman led the team in assists with nine.

Mount Vernon (12-9, 8-4 Reg. 5-1A) returns to action on Wednesday, Feb. 5, hosting King's Ridge Christian School.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Campus Gymnasium.
