DUNWOODY, Ga. - The Mount Vernon Varsity Girls Tennis team advanced to the Region Tournament Semifinals after defeating the Galloway School Scots 3-0 at Dunwoody Country Club on Monday, March 24.
Daniela O'Leary won her no. 1 singles match with ease, taking down her opponent 6-2, 6-0.
MV closed out the match with two wins at doubles.
Hunter Reese Giardino and Brooke Nazarian bested their competition 6-2, 6-1 at no. 1 doubles.
Mary Laborde and Caroline Wright went unbeaten at no. 2 doubles, winning 6-0, 6-0.
The Mustangs return to action on Wednesday, March 26, facing off against the Walker School at 10 a.m. at Whitefield Academy.
A win puts the Mustangs in the Region Tournament Championship, which will begin at 1:30 p.m.
