ATLANTA - The Mount Vernon Varsity Baseball team snapped a four-game losing streak on Monday afternoon, March 24, defeating the Weber School Rams 1-0 in 10 innings at Mustang Park.
With two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning, Alec Fahlbusch singled down the third base line to bring in Graham Cawthon for the victory.
A pitcher's duel throughout, MV got seven shutout innings from Will Flowers, who struck out 10 batters and walked just two.
Elliott Shive pitched a scored eighth and ninth inning with two strikeouts.
Preston Grice also pitched one scoreless frame in the tenth inning and picked up the win in relief.
Hudson Forrest and Carson Albert had two hits each for the Mustangs, who out-hit the Rams 8-6 on the day.
Mount Vernon (5-5, 2-4 Reg. 5-1A) returns to action on Wednesday, March 26 traveling to the Walker School.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. at Warren Field.
